At Merriam, project-based learning is the heart of instruction. Students engage in meaningful, interdisciplinary projects across math, science, language arts, social studies, and the arts fostering real-world connections and deeper understanding through hands-on inquiry. To nurture strong bonds and shared responsibility, Merriam employs "looping" where teachers stay with the same group for two years, fostering trust, emotional security, and deeper knowledge of each student's learning needs. Merriam's community thrives through deep collaboration between students, teachers, and families. Our values of "Risk-taking, Persistence, and Respect" are woven into daily life.
